Displaying Your Images

Let’s just be honest, we’re not all fabulous interior designers, no
matter how much “Trading Spaces” time we clock in front of our TV’s.
To help those of us who may be a bit interior design challenged,
we’ve put together some helpful hints. Just remember, these aren’t
rules but simple suggestions. So be creative and let your personality
guide you!

Match Your Prints- Having the height or width a common size helps to
make the group of photos more attractive. They donĂt have to be all
the same size.

Color- Match your color tones in the images. Pick images that are
related in colors (ie: black and white, red tone, etc.)

Common Images- Try to have each photo within the group reflect a
reoccurring theme (ie: having all the images with similar background
or similar colors.)

Activity based- Have your photos relate to one another by showing
similar activities in each shot.

Size balance- If your photos are not a common size make sure they are
balanced when being displayed. For example, use two larger photos on
the outside of a smaller photo to create balance with your groupings.

Wall Space- Brainstorm where you will put your portraits prior to
picking them out. You’ll want your images to compliment the space you
choose. Remember to use the color scheme of the room and consider the
size of the space in relation to the furniture before hanging your
images. You may want to use more intimate images in the bedroom while
opting to use more fun and crazy portraits for the family room. Let
your room guide you.
