What People are saying:
Working with Suzanne is one of the most supportive environments you could ask for, she manages to hold space for your own creativity, ideas and also different points of view. She has this flexibility where she can work with source material but adapt it for many different points of view. I would recommend her (and have) again and again

Suzanne, your superpower is your unwavering voice and creative perspective. Although I have heard and seen you admire other creative ideas, perspectives and outputs, I have never seen you emulate or even consider emulating others' work or styles. You have done so much work and exploration on your own to find your creative voice and vision, and in my eyes, it is firmly cemented and always being honed. This is so admirable in a world full of homogeneity, I believe you create not for acceptance but for expression and to give others life, and that is the true signature of an artist and creative spirit! - -Taylor McWethy
I have always wanted to know how to use a real camera. I feel confident and comfortable with the user friendly iphone but sometimes I get stuck and cannot execute what I see in my mind with an iphone or I wish I had taken a certain picture with a good camera so that I can blow the it up and display my art. I have taken a one on one lesson in the past with a photographer but I didn't understand and remember it all so I gave up. Suzanne agreed to teach me and I could see that she was very confident with her teaching methods. She explained that she would do it differently and teach how to use light to determine what and how I shoot and along the way I would learn the technical aspects of the camera. Her confidence sold me. I showed up at a park and her methods completely worked. I had built up a wall in my mind that I was never going to be able to learn something that I wanted so bad. She basically tricked my wall into coming down and I was able to learn. The lesson was a little over an hour and I learned so much: how to direct people in a photo shoot in a positive way, how to use the light to decide where to take a good portrait, and the basic camera functions. The best part was at the end when she sent me on my own to take pictures and then she went over them with me and pointed out my progress. I left feeling confident and excited to try more on my own. This was a completely different feeling from what I felt after my photography lessons in the past. I highly recommend Suzanne as an excellent photography mentor.

1. UNDERSTANDING. Suzanne knows and relates to where people are in their life and mental state. Instead of just watching from the other side of the glass she reaches out a hand and listens, understands, and is proactive in helping you get to where you want to be.
2. TRUST. I love that Suzanne trusts me....she may have more faith in me than I have in myself. She knows what I am capable of and knows when I sell myself short. She also knows when to broadcast her trust in me, which helps me not get lost. 3.
WISDOM. I think Suzanne is one of those silent wise people. She knows things long before I even come to the basic realization of what I'm feeling or understanding. And, when I finally get to where she is she is there with advice, suggestion, and open arms. She knows my skills before I know them. She knows what makes me happy before I do. - Morgan PIver
Suzanne is a master educator. Her ability to impart macro concepts at a personalized, micro level makes her my go-to when co-facilitating creative workshops. - Rebecca Gaffney
