Everyone may know that Suzanne photographs happy couples, babies and mommies-to-be. And we may all have known that she is a bit “out of the box” and silly sometimes. But did you know that she also has a passion for shooting baby dolls, plastic toy Indians and birds? Or how about colorful cupcakes topped with text messages written on edible rice paper? If you happened to attend her art opening, Sweet, at Playa Gallery on March 24th, then you will now know this other side of Suzanne! We had a great turnout, despite the lousy weather. DJ Jamal mixed some beats while personal chefs Julie and Robbie from Dining Details added to the fun with gourmet, bite size diner food (who couldn’t resist meatloaf served on a spoon, or home-made chicken nuggets dunked in a delectable sauce?). The Fabulous Baker Girls from Cake created a gorgeous double layered cake, and the most original cupcakes ever! And what would be a party without orange crush and vodka cocktails? Big thanks to Tom Bui who swooped in at last minute to help with decorations and for being such a calming, soothing savior to Suzanne. And Megan and Tyler from Albatross & Ivy for helping to create this event! And of course extra thanks to Ron and Playa Gallery for providing the space. What you may not have known about Suzanne is that she also supports a nonprofit organization called OrphanAid Africa, which supports orphaned and vulnerable children in Ghana, West Africa (www.oafrica.org). Suzanne donated her artwork to the cause, and all proceeds of photographs purchased went to help little kiddies in Africa :) Now that’s SWEET! xxRegsI took a few pics but mostly thanks to Dallas (dining with dallas) and Kimberly (cake) for the candids!!
Stephanie Marty Rocked the titles for the show! Yay Steph
