4 Things // Ice Sculptures & Karaoke
What a week of fun and creative photography. I love the people I am surrounded by and how much they inspire me.
Fun :: Exquisite Weddings launch. It was so fun to see our friends and meet new ones. Our image made the cover! Eek how exciting.
Photographed :: Mike and I photographed a fun shoot with Hanna (First and Orange) and Sage (Sage Justice Photo). We wanted to do some location scouting at the Make building in Carlsbad and challenge ourselves to get creative and learn new techniques. I also had the chance to photograph an at-home family session for Abbey, Steve and their new love Louie. Mike and I photographed a dream inspiration shoot at La Valencia with Before I Do events. Oh how fun it is to play with your friends. My WICP group photographed ice forms this week. It was interesting to photograph the abstract ice forms and watch them melt and unfold. I shot them with a macro lens and it felt good to get really close.
Singing :: There may have been some incredibly fun karaoke singing at Lamplighter this week. Mike and I let loose and had a blast #FamilyTradition
Dreaming of :: An upcoming trip to New Mexico. It's my first time there. I can't wait!
xoxo

Exquisite Weddings Bridal Party Fashion Shoot
My friend Jenny from Luxe Special Events is guest blogging for us today. She'll be talking about a project we worked together on for Exquisite Weddings latest issue. We created their first ever Bridal Party Fashion Shoot. Mike and I had such an incredible day shooting with our fabulously talented friends. We will definitely be showing you lots more from this shoot. Hope you love the pictures as much as we do. Hats off to Jessica at Lovestruck Make Up and Ray Thomas for their hair and make up magic!!!xoxo Suzanne
Jenny --
I was lucky enough to be asked to join a very talented group of ladies to create & style the Exquisite Weddings fashion shoot showcasing bridal party fashion. Among the creative minds; Suzanne and Mike/
She Wanders, Katherine Farley/
Root 75, Courtney Scowby/Brightly Designed, Summer Watkins/Grey Likes, Kimberly and Jennifer/CAKE and Alyssa McNees/EW.
A recent trip to the east coast + a shared inspiration led us to our decided direction.
The Concept: Irreverent Preppy
The Colors: Traditional muted tones mixed with some bright happy colors. The eclectic combination completely captured the irreverent preppy vibe. The colors do not seem as though they would work in harmony, but somehow just do.
Peony, Saffron, Coral, French Blue, and Charcoal
The Inspiration: totally inspired by the current trend towards stripes. We take a California twist on the typical striped color scheme, choosing to showcase diagonal stripes to give them an edgier look.
The Locale: A palatial estate oozing the charm of a sprawling Hampton’s ocean front property. The perfect choice was Rancho La Jolla Estate. A private LJ home with water views and elegant architectural moments.
The Story: A wedding day through the eyes of the bridal party; the moments before, in between and after.
The Bridal Party: A jet set Hampton’s crew used to living the good life. Friends with daring style choices slightly off the beaten path but with nods to their preppy high- brow roots.
The Scenes: The ladies getting ready in the bridal suite, the groomsmen blowing off steam on the tennis courts, the bridal party getting ready to walk the ceremony processional, the closest friends decorating the get-away car, and the bridal party at the tail end of the reception.
The Best:
1. I think the details of this photo shoot rise and set around the paper products that completely capture the theme, colors and mood in its entirety. The paper products coupled with the fabulous florals completely embrace the irreverent preppy vision.
2. In love with the kids in this shoot. Can I please put in an order for such cuteness?
3. The effervesence of the moment only She Wanders Photography can capture.
4. The way fabulous Phantom Rolls Royce from Rolls Livery. xoxo Jenny
