4 THINGS... DAYDREAMING

I hope that you are all having a great Sunday! This week I’ve had so much fun- I got to hang out with my ridiculously cute nephew, have a phenomenal time with cool people in Yosemite , and go on a great date night at the Old Globe.Obsessing over: Headspace. Headspace is my  stylish meditation app that makes it easy- today was my eighth day in a row using it . It helps me get in the right mood to accomplish the things I want to- I encourage you all to give it a try!

Reading: Burial Rites. I am totally wrapped up in this dark novel by first time author Hannah Kent. It is set in rural Iceland on farms with mostly turf houses. I actually saw these houses on my Iceland trip last summer and I was fascinated to hear this dark tale set in such a hauntingly beautiful place.

Traveling: This Wednesday Mike and I will head to Vegas for WPPI. WPPI is a photography conference on a giant scale. Photographers come from all over the world to hang out and refine their craft. I’m super excited to get to spend time with my fellow artists.

Dreaming of: In less than two weeks I’ll be camping/glamping with friends in El Capitan. I’m dreaming of clear skies and not needing a rain jacket! And, of course, s’mores.

4 Things... New Discoveries

Hi all & happy Sunday! This week as Mike and I come home from New York we’re getting back into the Southern California groove. We’ve been exploring and appreciating beautiful San Diego.Watching: Wild. Reese Witherspoon is amazing and this chronicle of her crazy journey is definitely worth a watch.

Photographing: I’m SUPER excited about my shoot this week. We’re doing a bridal fashion shoot for a new magazine complete with three generations of Native American women.

Listening to: Jess Lively’s podcast- The Lively Show. I love Jess’s sweet heart and her bravery and intelligence are so inspiring. When I listen I go through and research all of her guests, and I love how much I learn.

Dreaming of: a small road trip with my brother’s family- including my adorable nephew- tomorrow! I can’t wait to get out on the road and explore with them.

4 Things...NEW ADVENTURES

Happy Sunday from the big apple! We have an e-shoot in NYC and are spending the weekend with Mike’s family in Warwick. We’re hoping to do a few more spur of the moment shoots- we’ll see how it goes.Obsessing over- I’m in love with these Instagram feeds: Stella Maria Baer and Yoshimoto Nara

Dreaming of- Phoot Camp!  I just heard about this crazy awesome super fun event. I hope that they do one in 2015 and that I’m there running around, laughing, and making new pals.

Letting go of- Artist disappointment. A shoot I’ve been really looking forward to got rescheduled again. What do you do with your unfinished dreams? How do you know when to hold ‘em and when to fold ‘em? My inner artist is impatient and throws tantrums easily- she’s sulking in the corner. So many dreams are being realized, yet I don’t want to let go of this one.

Adventuring- I went to the Brooklyn Museum of Art and I saw a great piece by Judy Chicago called The Dinner Party. It was EPIC.

Here's a snapshot of me with a sweet mural in Brooklyn- I'm in love with all the public art here.

4 things...Superbowl Sunday

Happy Superbowl Sunday everyone.  I hope you are enjoying game day.  After a week in Indiana I am excited to be home, and what better way to spend some time with Mike than watching TV and eating some good food.  Even though my team is not in the game I will have fun cheering along and enjoying the festivities and commercials that come along with Superbowl Sunday.Watching: Game of Thrones.  After the Superbowl Mike and I will continue our marathon. We were definitely late to the game on this one.  After so many people told us to give it a try we finally sat down to watch this great tale.  The author is such a magician.  I am in story land heaven.  Our goal is to be caught up before the new season airs, and I don't think we will have a problem doing so.

Reading: The War of Art.  This book was better than I thought it would be.  It catches you off guard and leaves you wanting to soar and paint and turn cartwheels at the edge of the ocean.  It is worth a read.

Dreaming of:  NYC.  Later this week Mike and I are flying there for an engagement session and then heading outside of the city to visit his family.  What a treat it is going to be.  Hopefully there will be a winter wonderland of snow when we arrive.

Hanging out with: Morgan and Joe for the finale of our fantasy football season with some chips, salsa and a few beers.  It was a fun run this season.  I definitely was not victorious, but neither were the Packers and they are still awesome.

Have a wonderful week.
