Working in a series brings me so much joy. Curating colors, feelings or images is always rewarding, and it’s so fascinating to look at something through different perspectives. Sometimes, the series takes me years to create and I travel to many countries to find the right images. This shoot, however, was just over the course of two days and so full of joy.
My usual year is full of weddings, photoshoots, and creative fun. This year was anything but usual. So, I’ve taken it upon myself to create my own fun.
Here is a sneak peek into what that looks like.
I had asked Annette Gomez to make us the most stunning flower crown with her own hands for some Wanderlings creative fun, I was in awe while watching her make it. She has such a special touch with flowers, and it’s so awesome to see her create with the treasures from her own backyard. Most artists have this ability to make their craft seem effortless, but this was really no-sweat, easy-breezy, flowing, elegant craftsmanship.
I had managed to keep the flower crown mostly in tact and made a few amateur ones myself. Annette’s crown is the first one you see around Tyson’s neck. The rest of the silliness is all me.
I fashioned an open air photo booth with fabric and good lighting by the pool. With my backdrop set up and flower crowns ready to go, I waited for my neighbors to walk by with their cuties. Not to brag, but my apartment complex is home to some of the cutest cat and dog models to ever exist. It didn’t take long until someone walked by with their pal and let me use them as my models.
So, here it is. My creativity and me at work in a series. We have fun.
I hope you create something fun at home and share it with us.
Hit me up if you have a creative project you’ve been wanting to try out for your personal life or creative business. xoxo Suzanne
