When life gives you flowers, you take them over to a friends house for some at home portraits.
A few weeks ago, I was given the best gift someone in the wedding industry could probably receive. Buckets and buckets of flowers. I knew I had to use them up for something, since they don’t last very long. So, I did what was natural. I loaded them up in my car and drove to my dear friends’ Emmi and Alynn’s house for an impromptu portrait shoot.
We hung up the flowers and before we knew it, their house had become a wonderland. With colorful petals and stems adorning their doorway. It felt like some kind of portal to a new world, it was an in-house dream.
At home portraits bring me joy. I think it’s because it’s where people feel most comfortable and I can discover so much about them.. In the house they curated, with people they love, it’s inspiring to capture them in their own space.
Here’s to the small but profound creative adventures and to lovely gifts of flowers!
Thank you to Emmi and Alynn for indulging my creativity, and letting me capture your love in your home.
